We are NPO, "Furusato Kamo-Kizugawa", offering the Free English Guide assistance
for travelers around Kamo area located in South Kyoto, very near Nara city,
10 minutes by train.
The ancient national capital was located in the 8th century in Kamo, and
there are many National Treasures such as Buddhas Statues, Temple Buildings,
Stone Buddhas and
Beautiful Gardens. Why not visit Joruri-ji temple, Gansen-ji temple and
Stone buddhas?
The connecting path between these temples is tranquil and mysterious place
surrounded by trees, mountains and many old stone buddhas.
The area is comfortable and enjoyable for walking. We, local people, are
ready to be your guide and help you!

2) The necessary expenses to be paid by guest : your admissions, your
transportation fare and your meal expenses during the tour.
3) The guide’s transportation fare during the tour (including from their
home).
Note: Admissions for the guide is free.

Joruri-ji Temple was built in the 11th century.
The temple was named after Lapis Lazuli World.
The main temple was built at this location in order to enshirine the nine
Amida Buddhas.
At present it is only existing nine Amida temple in Japan. The main building is a National Treasure.
The pond called "Treasure Pond" has been registered as a special scenic spot by the government.
The three storied-pagoda is the oldest pagoda in Kyoto and a national treasure.
Gansen-ji Temple, located in a small valley is
famous for its Amida Buddha and hudrangea blossoms.
The temple was built in 729 by Emperor Shomu.
You can see four comical demons called "Sumioni"
or "the corner demon" under the eaves of pagoda.
The Amida Trinity carving can be found further down the path from Gansen-ji
Temple.
This is the most famous Stone Buddha,the Smiling Buddha made in 1299.
There are many stone buddhas in this area, known as "the village of
Stone Buddhas."
